Quilters Companion

Bubblegum

The ombre effect of colour and value can be achieved by following Michelle’s instructions to make this bright, bubbly quilt. Colour theory can frighten even the most skilled sewers, but Michelle has made it short and simple for you. Put simply, colour is actually the perception of light; the less light, the fewer colours we see. In the instructions you will find her colour theory and more advice to achieve this look.

This quilt achieves the flow of colours as they harmonise naturally through the colour spectrum, just as in rainbows that form by reflection and refraction of light through water, through the mindful use of value placement.

Each of the has three fabrics: fabric for the half square triangles; a centre square from the same colour family as the which, generally, is used or is a white with a small print that has the bright in it.
