YOU WOULDN’T THINK that at less than 70,000km² Tasmania could be home to several different climatic zones, but there you go; you probably wouldn’t think that it holds one of Australia’s ‘Greats’, either. In history, the word ‘great is handed out sparingly. People like Alexander or Friedrich received the soubriquet and deserved it, whereas today in Australia it can be applied to a hamburger or a TV commercial.
