The day that steam came to Heritage Railway!

Steam returned to the Lincolnshire town of Horncastle for the first time in around half a century on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, when LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No. 45596 Bahamas called by the Heritage Railway offices en route to the destination of its long-awaited overhaul.

The preservation icon, which had last steamed in 1997, was displayed in the car park of Mortons Media – which also publishes our sister and – from dawn to 2pm.
