Q I’m both a keen photographer and a car nut. I’ve seen some images in car magazines where the vehicles are moving, but the car is sharp and everything else is blurred. How do they do that?

A You are referring to what’s known as a car-to-car shot: car magazines use them a lot. It’s a great way to convey speed and dynamism, and give a different viewpoint to a photographer on the ground.
