Daniel Craig

In July 2000, I was commissioned by the Saturday Telegraph magazine to photograph the actor Daniel Craig. At the time, he was a well-respected actor but not the international star he was to become five years later, when he took over from Pierce Brosnan as the new James Bond.

Craig was then 31. He had come to the public’s attention in 1996 in the BBC TV drama . This had led to feature film roles and when I met him he. The shoot was informal and took place at the film publicists’ office near Piccadilly Circus in London.
