Vietnam greets Trump and Kim Jong Un with flowers, giant portraits and press at arm's length

HANOI, Vietnam - President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un arrived in Vietnam's capital on Tuesday for a second summit that could determine whether the high-profile diplomatic outreach will do anything to roll back North Korea's nuclear program.

Trump landed at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport around 9 p.m. and was scheduled to meet with Vietnamese officials Wednesday before having dinner with Kim and a few close aides. The summit is scheduled to conclude Thursday.

"Thank you to all of the people for the great reception in Hanoi," Trump tweeted. "Tremendous crowds, and so much love!"

Air Force One touched down about 13 hours after Kim's armored train, painted military green with yellow trim, chugged across the Chinese border and pulled to a stop at Vietnam's Dong Dang railway station.
