Shoei GT-Air II helmet

RRP: From £449.99 // www.shoeiassured.co.uk

Shoei has just revealed its new top-of-the-range GT Air II sports-touring helmet – building on the successes of its out-going first generation GT Air.

The new lid is the cream of the crop at Shoei, sitting at the top of its full-face helmet range alongside the X-Spirit III and Neotec II. Constructed from an organic and multi-composite fibre outer shell, the new design includes updated larger chin, forehead and rear exhaust ports, which Shoei claims will guarantee top quality ventilation, through the circulation of fresh air and extraction of hot air. There’s even an integrated spoiler to help optimise aerodynamic performance.

As you’d expect from such a high-end helmet, the new GT Air II is very well equipped and comes with an integrated drop-down sun-visor and pinlock-ready visor system. It’s also fitted with a detachable and washable lining. That’s not all though; it’s also compatible with Sena’s SRL2 intercom, an updated version of the unit already available for Shoei’s flip-front

I used to think that the low average mileage clocked up by so many British riders was just down to the fact that they weren’t using their bikes on the daily commute to work. And, four years ago, the situation changed quite drastically for many of us,
