URBAN BIKES

I always enjoy reading Maynard Hershon’s column.

In February 2018, however, he was quite disparaging about ‘retro’ bikes and the folk who buy them.

A visit to The Bike Shed in south east London would endorse his opinion about the ‘bushy dilettanti in ballerina jeans and white-soled sneakers’. However, some of those hipster types drawn to the burgeoning ‘garage built’ motorcycle scene by the image they wish to portray may eventually go on to then become ‘real’ motorcyclists.

With regard to the current popularity of ‘retro’ bikes, there is another demographic at work here too.
