Only once in my life have I spent over a grand on a bike jacket and trousers. It’s a lot of money, but you know what; it was one of the best motorcycle-related investments I’ve ever made. The items I bought were Gore-Tex laminated, thermal-lined, and fitted with comfortable but protective armour. That combination changed my whole approach to riding: all of a sudden I was happy to head out on two wheels whether it rained or shined, because I knew for certain that I would get to my destination dry, warm and comfy.
