MY FIRST ROAD RACE

Hands up who here’s ever fancied having a crack at road racing? Cos I sure have. Just imagine that insatiable experience and thrill of going flat out between walls and trees on regular roads… sounds like the bullocks doesn’t it? Ah yes, it’s just a shame mine aren’t big enough to convince my brain to enter one… until I stumbled upon hill climbing that is. But what is this hill climbing all about? Well, you know how people say marijuana is a gateway drug? I’d put hill climbing down as a gateway road race; a first taste of racing against the clock on closed public roads for just about any machinery you fancy chucking in your van, whether it be two wheels or four… if you’re wimp. It’s basically a lighter, entry level road race. Between you and me road racing has always been a no-go area for me, as far as my family are concerned anyway; so I didn’t tell my mum what I was doing as she probably would’ve shot me (which actually made me even more excited to get a taste) – sorry mum.

Now, I know most of the time full fat is better, but when it comes to road racing I have to say the lighter option sounds much more appealing for a starter;
