Matt Nagy caps his 1st Bears season with the NFL Coach of the Year Award

ATLANTA - Along with new X's and O's, Matt Nagy brought a fresh attitude to the Bears in 2018, and his interpersonal skills with players perhaps made a greater impact on the team than his playbook.

The combination of scheme and an energized approach at Halas Hall fueled a worst-to-first turnaround that earned Nagy the NFL Coach of the Year Award, presented Saturday evening during a ceremony at the Fox Theatre one day before Super Bowl LIII.

The rookie head coach - who cut short a vacation to Saint Lucia with his wife, Stacey, to celebrate their anniversary in order to attend the NFL Honors event - earned 24 votes from a nationwide panel
