Brad Biggs: With Vic Fangio sure to be in demand, Bears might need to think outside the box to keep defensive mastermind

CHICAGO — If you’re ranking the significance of reasons for the Bears’ worst-to-first turnaround that has them on the verge of their first playoff appearance in eight years, two major coups come after the hiring of Matt Nagy as head coach in January.

Nagy convincing defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to stick around and the trade for Khalil Mack — the best in-his-prime pass rusher the Bears have had since Hall of Famer Richard Dent — come next. Place them in whatever order you wish.
