HOUSTON - U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan on Monday praised agents' response, including the use of tear gas, during clashes that took place Sunday at the San Ysidro border crossing, saying their actions avoided serious injuries on both sides and "effectively managed a potentially dangerous situation."
