Summit that peak

You will feel indestructible. Running will feel effortless. You will bound through the day with zest and energy, eat and sleep well, and feel a heightened sense of awareness, even increased libido.

Sounds like a good drug to be on, doesn’t it? But this is no drug-induced euphoria, but typically what runners will experience when they peak properly before a big race.

My runners perform well on much less training than people think they do, and the reason is simple. A runner who peaks well will usually beat a runner who hasn’t peaked well, even though they may have trained much harder. To peak well is to get the maximum benefit from all the hard training you have done.
