Rebuild to ride

Quietly one evening, just after the last issue of CDB had gone to press, there was some activity in what is doubling as a workshop at the moment – I’m not going to say what this space’s actual function is, as I’d hate to give anyone else the idea that a ‘front room’ can be multi-functional. Some bits had arrived from Triumph specialist Len Craig, another few had come from Burton Bike Bits and one of the boxes I’d been carting around the country for goodness knows how long revealed some other bits and things are now looking good.

Just to recap, the engine was acquired through Old Bike Mart long before I even worked for Mortons, let alone edited OBM and stood in various workshops for years until stripping it down revealed less internals than any self-respecting Triumph twin engine needs to hold its head up high in the world.

I will admit that perhaps I should have taken the ‘it was running when we pulled it out of the frame in 1968…’
