A brief chat with... ASHLEY BOAL

From sitting on the petrol tank of a Yamaha being operated by his dad Alan, to being appointed secretary of the vintage register within the BMW club is quite a ride, but one which classic car restorer Ashley Boal has embraced with an enthusiasm matched only by his passion for the 250cc BMW which brought him to our attention. It is refreshing to find a classic fan in the younger age bracket embracing club life and being able to handle the mechanical side of things too. I learned all this while chatting to Ashley at the recent Tyne Valley Classic Show at Stamfordham Village, just above the Roman Wall in Northumberland.

As secretary of the vintage and classic register, Ashley’s duties include being involved in the club stands and displays at all sorts of events, with local shows such as Tyne Valley rubbing shoulders with such events as the massive Motorcycle Live at the NEC and at Stafford.
