Bring on the bikes

For its 13th running, the organisers of the GP Historique de Bressuire bowed to popular demand – from public and riders alike – and added, as a plateau d’honneur, a class for motorcycles and sidecar combinations. Bravely, they set 1939 as its cut-off date, which attracted an impressive collection of over 20 mainly French motorcycles from the interwar years. However they didn’t need to worry about the public reaction to this new class. The public acclamation, from the grandstands along the finishing straight, was evident to anyone with ears!
