The day I rode a £2 MILLION CLASSIC RACER

Plater has always been clear that – if the chance ever presented itself – he’d give away body parts if that’s what it took to ride a real Honda Six.

And, if it could happen anywhere, then (should the planets align ‘just’ right) swinging a leg over the iconic Honda at the Isle of Man would be the cherry on this almost impossible motorcycle cake.

Of course, you know by now that it happened in 2017 – that Steve Plater took the Honda Six out on the TT Course during the Parade lap.

Here’s what Steve thought about the experience: “It all started when, while walking down the pit-lane during TT race week, organiser Paul Phillips asked me: ‘Would you be willing to ride the Honda Six during the 2017 Classic TT?’

“Now I would rate that question up there with: ‘How would you like to spend a night with Cameron Diaz?’ Paul knew the answer before he offered the ride and went on to explain that it would be a lap on my own round the Mountain Course with TV cameras capturing the action and massive media attention. No pressure then…
