The devil made me do it

On lap 17 of the Moto2 race at Misano, Italy, a young Italian rider called Romano Fenati pulled alongside a rival, Stefano Manzi, at around 135mph on the circuit’s back straight. They had spent the race swapping midfield places, locked together since the opening lap – and, it later transpired, Manzi had run them both off the track attempting an ambitious overtake at the hairpin.
