When I was a kid we had a granny flat tacked onto our home. It was a daggy corrugated iron-covered shack, which was mainly filled with old paint tins and building materials dad hadn’t quite got round to using in the latest reno project. But gone are the days when “granny flat” was synonymous with the word daggy. We are seeing a boom in sophisticated, comfortable and — above all — liveable granny flats in Australia.
