TWO'S COMPANY

Colin Voice is a big fan of American cars, but they must fit into certain, precise criteria. “I’ve always liked old cars,” explains Colin, “I’ve had a few Buicks, but my passion is for English-spec right-hand-drive American cars. My first was a 1924 Buick roadster I bought in 2007. Later cars – by which I mean beyond the Twenties – don’t really appeal to me, but I appreciate the engineering of the Thirties cars and how easy they are to work on.” Which naturally begs the question, why does he now own two cars from the late Thirties?
“I’m always looking for Packard cars and parts although I don’t really do post-war cars,” continues Colin. “In fact, I thought twice about buying these since I felt even 1936 was a bit too modern for me. I also don’t do saloons – only convertibles or coupes. I bought both cars in 2015. I saw the 1937 Packard on eBay and the 1936 car was up for sale by the same owner too, so I bought them both.”
