Jealousy is an ugly emotion, but when someone has two of the loveliest fin-era Cadillacs in the country, it can rear its head. Yet within two minutes of chatting to Eddie Brown, all that goes out of the window. He’s a genuine enthusiast, a mechanic and as down to earth as it gets – and he’s had to make a few sacrifices to end up with this wonderful convertible.

“I saw it on eBay in 2016, advertised for sale over in Selby, really not that far from where I am in Rochdale,” he says. “It kept appearing like a big carrot of temptation and I realised I had to have it. But it meant selling both my 3.0-litre Capris and my 16,000-mile Mk 3 Zodiac!”
