Black Bird

This 1962 Ford Thunderbird belonging to Kevin Moss could be described as a work in progress. The car looks incredible, but it’s taken Kevin many hours to get it to this stage – most of that effort was done under the surface. “I bought the Thunderbird in March 2017,” remembers Kevin. “I first saw it at the 2015 Supernats when the bodywork had just been done to as good a standard as I’d want it to be. The seller hadn’t tried especially hard to sell the car, so I saw it a few more times at different shows - it had been restored well, but not over-restored.

“It had a kph speedometer and was owned new by an American serviceman stationed in Germany,” continues Kevin. “The Thunderbird had then been sold to a car dealer in Germany and put into storage where rats ate the wiring, roof and part of the rear seat.
