Not all ceramic, porcelain or cement tiles are suitable for outdoor areas. While there are manufacturing standards, not all tiles meet international standards. Tile products are generally wear-rated from low to high (1–5). Be sure to check the wear-rating and waterabsorption rating of your tile selection before laying.
