MID-CENTURY MODERN

When my wife Rochelle first told me about a house she had seen, which unbeknown to me was soon to become our new home, I don’t know that we were actively looking to move. However, our three children were growing quickly and I could see the reasoning behind more space. From the moment I saw the site I fell in love with it and needed little convincing of the benefits of relocating. Apart from the proximity to Coogee Beach, what struck me immediately were the trees, the level of privacy and the absolute absence of any traffic noise. It is a unique block positioned at the end of a cul-de-sac, measuring 65 metres in length and 9.2 metres in width, the addition of a double garage and pedestrian entrance that tucked around at one end, creating an L-shaped block.

The trees, advantage of northern winter light both in the garden and through the house with a series of courtyards, whilst the mature trees positioned to the west of the house make summer afternoons a delight.
