Winemaker Johan Jordaan has blended grapes from two distinct areas and five different cultivars to find his blending “sweet spot”. Grapes from Groenekloof in the Darling region give black berry fruit, while those from Stellenbosch add red fruit aromas and provide a dense structure. The five Bordeaux varieties that he merges are Cabernet Sauvignon (59%), Merlot (26%), Cabernet Franc (6%), Malbec (5%) and Petit Verdot (4%), each with their own personality.
