Lost in the hubbub of this year’s Oscar season is the latest by independent auteur Jim Jarmusch, a determinedly low-key filmmaker who has spent his career working the side of the street marked “quirky”. Paterson follows a week in the life of a poet named Paterson who lives in Paterson, New Jersey, and composes verse about everyday pleasures while working his day job as a bus driver.
