BILLION-DOLLAR BOMBER, INVISIBLE AND LETHAL
Dwellers woke up with the thundering of hundred bombs falling on precisely selected targets. In a massive high-precision attack, strategic shelters of ISIS terrorist group were destroyed in a few minutes, according to military authorities, without having damaged the neighbors. The bombing took place at the beginning of 2017, in the city of Sirte, Libya, northern Africa. However, even in view of the mission success, part of the American press and various military analysts criticized the action, contesting the use of an aircraft that US$ 128,000 cost-per-flight-hour. In that assault, the United States used the frightening B-2 Spirit, considers the most expensive aircraft ever built, and famous for being invisible to the detection means of its enemies.
The aircrafts took off from Whiteman air base, in Missouri, and flew for 30 hours, requesting five in-flight refuel operations. Only the cost of each B-2 involved in the action, without considering the value expended by refueling planes, reached to US$ 3.84 million. This high figure matches the unit value of B-2, estimated in over US$ 2 billion, after 20-year operation and numberless updates.
THE UNIT VALUE OF THE B-2 IS HIGHER THAN US$ 2 BILLION, WHILE ITS COST-PER-FLIGHT-HOUR US$ 128,000.
