♦ 36 fat quarters of large floral print barkcloth (or quilter’s cotton, see What is Barkcloth?)
♦ Batting at least 290cm (115in) square
♦ 14 fat eighths of solid complementary barkcloth (or quilter’s cotton, see What is Barkcloth?)
♦ 2.8m (3¼yd) extra-wide (275cm/108in) backing fabric
♦ Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
♦ Sewing machine with ¼in foot
♦ General sewing supplies
Cutting
From the black background fabric, cut:
♦ 14 strips, 2⅞in x width of barkcloth fabric or 18 strips, 2⅞in x width of quilter’s cotton fabric. Cross cut them to yield a total of 244 squares, 2⅞in. Cut 144 of these squares once across the diagonal to yield 244 half-square triangles (A). The remaining 144 squares (B) aren’t cut
