Announcing the winner of Brother International’s 17th Annual Quilting Contest (Australia)

Lisa Alexander’s bee-themed has taken out top honours in the ship!!!!). “The quilt depicts the queen bee watching over the busy worker bees pollinating flowers and working on the honeycomb,” explains Lisa. “It is made up of approximately 120 flower petals, 90 leaves and 60 wings embroidered on washaway, cut back individually using a burning tool and sewn into place to give a 3D effect.” The top 10 quilts from Australia are to be sent to Japan to compete internationally. We are showing you a selection of them here, just as a Brother creative snapshot.
