Q Can I shoot HDR if I don’t have a tripod?

A It’s always going to be easier if you have a tripod: that way you can be sure the different images you are taking all align perfectly. If they don’t, it’s much harder for your HDR software to make them work – and it may not be possible at all. When you are handholding, some movement is inevitable, and the slower the shutter speed or the longer the time between each frame being taken, the greater the chance is that those images won’t align.
