USS Arizona Memorial At Pearl Harbor Closes Indefinitely Due To Structural Concerns

The memorial, which honors the 1,177 sailors and Marines on the battleship who died during the December 1941 Japanese surprise attack, has fissures on its exterior.
According to the National Parks Service, the USS <em>Arizona</em> Memorial will be closed for repairs for "an undetermined period of time."

The USS Arizona Memorial off Honolulu's coast is closed for repairs. Jay Blount, a spokesman for the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, told Hawaii News Now that the edge where the visitor ramp meets the memorial has fissures on its exterior and the loading ramp is not being properly supported.
