Sam Darnold leaving USC early to enter 2018 NFL draft

LOS ANGELES - Sam Darnold will give up his final two years of college eligibility and declare for this spring's NFL draft, the USC quarterback announced Wednesday.

The announcement, made first on Instragram, came as no surprise since Darnold, a probable top-five draft pick, was widely expected to turn pro after a 2017 season in which he became the first USC quarterback to throw for more than 4,000 yards.
