Paul Sullivan: As Stanton nears Maris' old record, Sosa nowhere to be seen

MILWAUKEE - Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton entered the final 10 days of the season with a shot at reaching 61 home runs, needing five more to tie the old record held by Roger Maris.

"He's very capable of doing it, but it's not easy when you have guys pitching around him," Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo said. "And the closer he gets, you don't want to be that guy (that gives up No. 61).

"I hope he does. But the odds aren't in his favor."
