CHICAGO _ In a blink of an eye, the Cubs' second-half surge looked to be in jeopardy.
Shortstop Javier Baez was kneed in the right eye on a headfirst slide into second base during the second inning of the Cubs' 5-1 loss to the Braves on Sunday and later came out of the game suffering from blurred vision.
Baez was being evaluated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Sunday afternoon as the team left for Pittsburgh for a four-game trip, and though the Cubs
