Scruff decides to go play at the lake and he no sooner arrives when his friend Molly shows up. They discover an abandoned canoe and decide to give canoeing a try. Just as they reach the middle of the lake the sky clouds over and a storm rolls in. The friends face the challenge together and learn a bit about boating safety.

Molly finds a new little puppy called Benny and she instantly falls in love with him. Scruff becomes concerned when she announces that she is going to keep the puppy for herself.
