The Adventures of Scruff and Molly Series

After too many hours of lying around on an uncomfortable bed Scruff decides he needs a bit more action. He slips out of the house and heads to the park where he meets a new dog friend named Molly. Molly challenges Scruff to a running race. Scruff expects to win but is surprised by her strength. Their encounter marks the beginning of a long-term friendship and kicks off a whole series of action packed animal adventure stories. 

Scruff and Molly head to the forest where they meet some honey bees who are busy making honey. The two friends decide they want a taste of the sweet treat. Their desire for the snack triggers events that reveal the undesirable consequences of taking rather than asking for what they want. 

While heading to the river Scruff passes Molly who is chasing a black cat through the bushes. Scruff instantly joins in the fun but their chase takes an interesting turn when the cat proves to be more dangerous than they thought. 

Scruff and Molly head down an alley and run into a skunk who is feasting on a snack. They try to escape quietly without being detected but the skunk sees them. After chatting and sharing a meal with the skunk it seems they might form a friendship. However, Scruff does something puzzling that threatens their emerging friendship and leaves everyone a bit shocked.

Scruff awakes feeling a bit unhappy due to his earlier encounter with Smelly the Skunk. He decides he will feel better if he heads to his hideout in a vacant barn. Molly and Smelly find him there and he reveals why he acted so unlike himself the day before. After learning what caused Scruff’s unusual behaviour the friends throw a bonfire-party.

Scruff decides to go play at the lake and he no sooner arrives when his friend Molly shows up. They discover an abandoned canoe and decide to give canoeing a try. Just as they reach the middle of the lake the sky clouds over and a storm rolls in. The friends face the challenge together and learn a bit about boating safety.

Molly finds a new little puppy called Benny and she instantly falls in love with him. Scruff becomes concerned when she announces that she is going to keep the puppy for herself. When little Benny’s father comes looking for him Molly becomes overwhelmed and has an accident. Scruff stays by her side and helps her through with a technique he learned from his mom.

Scruff and Molly decide to look for little Benny. Despite their sharp noses and powerful sense of direction they get lost and can not find their way home. In the distance they see a familiar figure who not only helps them home but introduces them to fishing along the way.
