Welcome to the town of Harmony, California - walk around and enjoy all it has to offer: Artisans, Creamery and Wine! Go on an Adventure with me and see how the little town of Harmony changed its future, just by changing its name.    In the 1900s, the town founders got in to extremely dangerous arguements over cattle, such that someone one got shot dead. Rather than give up or continue to struggle, they chose a new direction and made that announcement to the world by changing the name and philosophy of the town.    With a Town-owner permission, I was able to walk around for 2 days taking photos, conducting interviews and getting a feel for the place. It ended up being one of the BEST experiences of the Entire trip. You'll enjoy dancing cows, glassblowing classes, an indepth interview, and much more.   Almost everyone who's seen the book says the same thing, "When I was there in the past, it was pretty rundown. This town has modernized and is so beautiful, I'm going to have to make a trip just to visit!   And that's my advice...enjoy this beautiful , and then go there. Plan to spend all day there, visiting the shops, eating ice cream, visiting the winery and saying prayers in the chapel.    There might only be 18 to 19 people in this town, but it has never given up and always found new ways to develop economically for everyone's enjoyment.  

Hearst's Hacienda - Army Garrison Fort Hunter-Ligget   This is the 6th installment of The Bicycling Highway 1 eBook Adventure series.    This little known ranch of the William Randolph Hearst Empire provided the food for his vast 1930s Newspaper-Hollywood parties. In a pure miracle, the author met the Housekeeper of the Hacienda on the side of the road while eating dinner and was invited to come and see her beauitful workplace called, "The Hacienda." In a pure leap of Faith, the author showed up over 2 days, took photos and conducted interviews to provide you with a fascinating tale of history, intrique and hope for the future of this National Historical monument.    The book is filled with stunning photos, gentle thoughts and invitations to military bicycle travelers to the magnificent home of the newspaper magnet. Exploring Moss Landing: Power Plant Coffee & Landscapes.   This is the 7th Installment of the Highway 1 eBook Adventure Series.   The author originally went there to explore the downtown area filled with antique stores. Unfortunately, all of them never recovered from the Covid lockdown and closed. So, discover all the thriving businesses to visit and enjoy in this more agricultural exploration of the Moss Landing area. While not the book we thought she would write, it ended up far better than we ever hoped and might even change your mind about a few topics.   So, open the pages to beautiful landscapes and a lovely investigation of organic farming versus agro-business farming.
