The Forever Detective Series

In 1947 Rafael Jones is opening his own private investigations business. After being a cop for several years, and then an MP turned War Crimes Investigator during WWII, he'd felt it was time to be his own boss and help people his own way. He was already off to a good start. He already had two cases on his plate. One involved working with a British Interpol agent investigating smuggled Russian art that had disappeared back in WWI. The other case, involved a mysterious cult, that seemed to be recruiting followers from Marshall Industries.    These two seemingly unrelated cases, quickly combine into one which drops Rafael dropped not only into a world of danger unlike any he's faced before. For he soon finds himself coming face to face with the supernatural in the form of the living dead, one of whom chooses him to join their ranks.   Now he's the only thing that can save the world from this growing darkness. But can he save himself first?

The year is 1947 and private investigator Rafael Jones has already learned the hard way that the supernatural is all too real. Having been turned into a vampire, he's trying to continue his work as a detective, while attempting to adapt to and understand his condition.    Now he has a new case to deal with. A friend has asked him to prove a mansion he's inherited is NOT haunted. Unfortunately, it is... and the ghost needs Rafael for help and justice.   Can our hero find answers and evidence a 20 year old cold case no one knew about? Can he find the Prohibition gangster who murdered the young flapper? These things are harder than you'd expect them to be with a view of the murder on replay. As Rafael finds out, the secrets of the supernatural are not known only to the good guys, but to gangsters who have access to magic making them all the more dangerous. 

Raphael Jones is always a little out of his depth in rural settings, but he's not just a detective, he's also undead. So, when the Saratoga County coroner mentions bite marks found on several drowning victims during the Spring and Summer of 1947, he simply cannot ignore her request to investigate. However, Raphael knows he has weaknesses (like sunlight, running water, and a woeful lack of country manners), so he has decided not to work alone. With the help of Medium Brown, Michael Flannery, and another not-necessarily-friendly face from his recent past, he hopes to find the person or supernatural being responsible, and put an end to their murderous spree.   However, will his slowly developing powers, quick wits, and allies be enough to prevail against something old, strong in magic, and completely cursed?

There's no place like home for the holidays-- or for having you darkest secrets revealed!   Christmas, 1947 finds our hero Rafael Jones still adjusting to his vampire lifestyle, while still running his private investigator business at the same time. Only now the holidays are upon him and he's heading back to Buffalo, NY to visit his parents who still don't know about their "little boy's" undead situation. But he's also got a new case. It happens to involve a missing girl up in Buffalo his hometown. and as much as he'd like to pass on the job, how can you say no to a Guardian Angel who is literally Heaven sent?   Luckily, he's got Clara Thomas (Interpol agent/member of W. I. T. C. H. Hunters) to help him with both problems. And he's going to need it. Especially with all the secrets he's about to uncover not only about the missing girl, but his own mother, and the town he grew up in. Wizards, witches, danger, pixie dust, and places where the magic happens await both you and Rafael in this holiday mystery.  

Once, Rafael Jones was just another guy back from the war, starting up his own business. But because that business was a detective agency, he took a case that led him face-to-face with a pair of monsters.    Those monsters in turn chose him to join their ranks and made him a vampire. But Rafael struggled against their 'gift', drove them from New York, and has continued to seek a cure, while holding onto his humanity in spite of his new condition.    But now those who turned him are back, and it seems like a new nightmare is about to be unleashed on a particular part of the city's population.  Rasputin, a vampire with religious mania, has turned his attention to those he acknowledges as God's first Chosen People… the Jews. And now Rafael has to race against time and find out exactly what Rasputin has planned for them, and stop him, before the body count begins to stack up again.
