The Dark Depths Series

It's 2098 and the last season of baseball—forever. After the ravages of WWIII, the once all-American sport is now synonymous with terrorism and treason. Holograms run the bases for out-of-shape players and attendance averages fifteen spectators per game. The only ballpark left is the former Yankee Stadium.   America, nearly wiped out by radical Islam, has established a society based on love. Religion, social media, and the entertainment industry have been outlawed. All acts of patriotism are illegal, and the country is led by Grandma. Heading up the Family in her home base in the Bronx, she works tirelessly to build a lasting legacy for the future.   As baseball historian Puppy Nedick prepares for opening day, a chance encounter lands him face-to-face with former baseball greats. Determined not to go down without a fight, the players band together to revitalize the game for one last hurrah.   But not everyone wants peace. Will baseball become the catalyst for WWIV, or will it save America?

In a world where laws restrict nearly every move people make, baseball pitcher Puppy Nedick and his ex-wife Annette are on the run. Branded by their government as American traitors and murderers, they and their friends must now navigate the chaotic remnants of London.   As Puppy faces an uncertain future run by secret police, robots, and holograms, he is determined to save the world using the only weapon he has—baseball.

Winter 2099   Finally cleared of treason charges, Puppy Nedick is now the Commissioner of Baseball. Vowing to return the game to its previous national glory, he becomes alarmed when there is little interest in the sport. Troubled by flagging attendance, excessively polite fans, and the poor quality of play, Puppy makes a radical decision: return the dying sport to the game of old.    Attendance soars and suddenly gamegoers are rooting for the home team, participating in bobblehead giveaways, waving banners, and vying for autographs of the celebrity players. Baseball is becoming the national pastime again. And those who are in power are watching.   The revival of the sport unleashes dormant passions and new fears, creating questions about America's revised history and challenging the very foundation and the basic laws of the controlling Family.   Once again a scapegoat, baseball becomes the rallying point of resistance as ordinary heroes try to bring the world together against the terrifying specter of impending nuclear annihilation, in the explosive conclusion to the Dark Depths trilogy.
