OPERATION LARGE SCOTCH SERIES

The 1999 Good Friday Agreement the British and American governments have put together does not meet the approval of one IRA dissident cell.     They feel they have been sold out and their current lifestyle, derived from running drug dealing and protection rackets will be badly effected. Their leader Michael Caldwell decides to compensate fpr their loss of income by planning an assault on the Scotch Whisky industry unless they meet his demands for a £20m ransom. He plans on carrying out his threat by using a sympathiser to his cause who places semtex explosives in whisky barrels which aer then stored in warehouses in different parts of Scotland   Operation Large Scotch covers the period 1982-2000 which was at the height of the troubles and how  a botched British commando ambush resulted in seven deathes and acting as as a catalyst for Mhairi McClure, whose fiance' was killed in the raid to join the IRA.   Both Police Scotland and MI5 are alerted by the terrorists to their demands but unable to locate where the threat will come from until John Johnston, who has fled to South Africa after witnessing the ambush years previously nforms Mossad the Israeli secret service. MI5 must now intervene and stop the possibility of many innocent civilians being killed -but will they be in time?

A naked body is washed up on Joppa Rocks on the east end of Edinburgh Scotland, thousands of miles from where she was last seen in Leipzig Germany.   Her body has no matching DNA which baffles Police Scotland in their attempts at identification . A photo-fit of her face is distributed to all the security services throughout the U.K. and only then do MI6 admit she is one of their junior ranked agents. Elke Kohl was only supposed to be intelligence gathering at local hotels but she couldn't resist trying to advance her spy career. This leads her to bacoming involved with Estonian drug dealers, who are also involved in white slave trading and she meets her death by being thrown into freezing tank of newly caught fish! Richard Hartley, the assistant controller of MI6  sends two of his best agents to germany to investigate the circumstances of Elke's death, which he is desperate to avenge. They uncover a further threat inthe form of an Afghan terrorist who has been smuggled into Scotland by the same drug dealers with the sole purpose of causing a major terrorist incident. MI6's  job is to prevent this happening,

Police Scotland circulate her description to all the security services and MI6 respond by confirming she was a young spy Elke Kohl who they had recruited when she was at Durham University. She was last seen in Leipzig in what prior to unification was East Germany - so how did she come to be washed up on the east coast of Scotland?  Assistant Controller at MI6 Richard Hartley  sends two of his agents Hugh McFaul and Campbell Anderson to Germany to seek revenge on Elke's killers which results in them entering into the unsavoury world of drug traffickers and white slave traders.  One of the men Elke had been having an illicit afair with was an Afghan called Mohammed Al-Basiri who has entered the UK on the same ship where Elke was murdered. Al-Basiri  arranges drug supplies for Scottish dealers but also has a plan to wage a terrorist attack on Edinburgh. The security services in the shape of Police Scotland and MI6 have to use all facilities at their disposal to prevent this happening, but will they succeed?

Vengeance in Valescure is a political thriller involving MI6's concern that the outcome of the Arab Spring which has resulted in changes in government. The fear is that the new regimes may side with Russia or China andset up nuclear weapons capable of firing missiles into major European cities. Richard Hartley, Assistant Controller at MI6, has received intelligence that the Russians have set up an arms dealership posing as a wholesale wine merchant based at Valescure in the South of France. They are providing weapons to a range of terrorist organisations in both Europe and North Africa which must be terminated. Hartley sends three agents to Valescure, including Mhairi McClure and irish terrorist serving a twenty year jail sentence. McClure is an expert on international finance having the degrees from both Oxford and Harvard prior to joining the IRA. Her incentive for this operation to succeed is the promise of a reduction to her prison sentence. The agents remit is to pentrate the Russian operation run by Roland Canault (not his real name) who previously fled Serbia, before he was put on trial for war crimes, and destroy him and the Russian base  before Hartley's fears become a reality!

Two leading Scottish establishment figures,High Court Judge Robert McKinlay and financier James Offard, are assassinated on the same night making DCI Grant McKirdy of Police Scotland think there are professional contract killers operating in the Edinburgh area. The case widens with the murder of  a gangland leader in his cell at Saughton Prison who had informed Lord McKinlay that leading figures in the Scottish legal systemm were involved in a global money laundering scheme controlled by the mafia. It soon becomes apparent to McKirdy that thereis a common denominator rto all thes crimes - football!
