About this series
The purpose of this guide is to help writers learn how to break big writing projects into smaller, more doable tasks.
We all know what it's like to face a huge project with no idea where to start. It's easy to let that paralysis keep you from starting at all. And the bigger and more complex the project, the more there is to keep track of.
The solution is what I call "chunking" - breaking your writing project down into smaller and smaller pieces until you have a list of tasks you can actually do.
The chunking process benefits writers for a host of reasons, from helping you think the project through to determining the most efficient way to do things. Ultimately, chunking is necessary if you want to be able to create useful writing plans and track your progress.
This guide will walk you through the what, why, and how of chunking and provides three in-depth examples to illustrate the process.

- The Writer Rhythm Workbook: Finding Your Optimal Writing Flow: Get Your Writing Done Guides, #1
1
Do you often find yourself trying to write when you're tired, cranky, or out of sorts? Do you wind up writing on different days and at different times every week? Ever worked on a project where everything just felt off and you never got comfortable? Are you a person who writes to live, or who lives to write? The purpose of this workbook is to help you improve the alignment between your writer rhythms - the internal settings that determine how you write most productively - and your writing reality, or how you actually write on a regular basis. The first part of the guide will introduce you to the concept of writer rhythms and, I hope, convince you that writer rhythms play an important role in determining your writing productivity and satisfaction. When your writing reality is aligned with your writer rhythms, writing comes easy, writing is fun, and you will get a lot of writing done. When your alignment is poor, on the other hand, even easy things will be difficult and your writing life will suffer. The second part of the workbook will lead you through a process to help you establish, or confirm, your writer rhythms, check the alignment between your writer rhythms and your writing reality, and then encourage you to consider ways to improve the alignment between the two.
- AI Tools for Writers: Get Your Writing Done Guides, #2
2
The purpose of this guide is to help writers incorporate artificial intelligence into their workflow. These new tools -more appear everyday it seems - hold great promise. I won't pretend to provide a comprehensive review of the topic here, but it is already clear that AI tools are helping writers overcome common challenges and do their jobs more easily and more quickly. This guide will focus on four ways you can use Notion's new AI capability for your writing: • Brainstorming • Chunking and Outlining • Planning • Generic Content Creation Don't worry, AI isn't going to replace writers anytime soon, but it would be foolish not to acknowledge how powerful it has already become. It's exciting to imagine what is coming next.
