Falling For a Dragon Series

Kate Dena thought she was heading home one dreary evening. What she was really heading for was an adventure of a lifetime in a world of fantasy, magic, and romance.   Flung into a world she doesn't understand and with magical powers she never knew she had, Kate finds herself adrift in a sea of confusion and conjury. Her best anchor turns out to be an attractive stranger who takes her under his wings, literally, and shows her the beauty his world has to offer.   Unfortunately, beneath that beauty there festers a terrible evil in the form of the King of Shadows, and he desires Kate above all else. Together the two must work together to escape from the clutches of the wicked king, even if that means eluding his agents across an entire kingdom. Along the way they learn more about each other, and as their journey takes them through bawdy taverns and under troll-infested bridges, Kate begins to realize that she's falling for her handsome hero. Will she survive long enough to enjoy her newfound romance?

Kate and her dragon protector Ros have escaped the domain of the King of Shadows, but their troubles are far from over.   Kate's role as the person to lift the world out of darkness is still in doubt, so Ros suggests they look into the prophecy. Their journey takes them along the Paths of the Forgotten, an labyrinth of abandoned trails that lead to their destination, the ancient library of Mathisi. The records within those walls were saved by the ravages of time by the Logos, an old family who were once part of the civilization that built the majestic ruins adjacent to their library.   However, all is not well on the Paths. A strange sickness afflicts the villagers near the library, one which leaves them as nothing more than zombies eager to consume a particular herb found only in their forest. As the situation worsens the pair find that there's more than just shadows that haunt the ruins and the village. Something far darker lurks in the heart of the ancient city, something only Kate can discover, but only together can they destroy the evil before they become its next victims.

At the advice of the celestial being of the mountains, Kate and her handsome dragon companion Ros find themselves on the edge of the vast Sahra desert, and on the verge of a harrowing journey.   The pair join a caravan set to cross the wide swath of sands, but the pack hasn't even set out before they hear rumors of trouble. The huge worm that protects the caravans has instead turned on them, and the local commander means to find out why. On their journey they're joined by a troupe of tumblers, a witch with a secret, a beautiful woman with a thing for Ros, and a handsome youth with a death wish.   Together the crowd cross the desert and find themselves battling not only the elements, but the local Pactus, a fine group of people who have a taste for exotic flesh. The bane of the marauders makes its appearance and hell rises from the sands as the group fights for survival, and Kate fights for a little alone time with her devilishly seductive dragon friend.

Eager to learn how to control her powers, Kate and Ros venture into the kingdom of his family. There they stumble upon a mystery lurking in the dark waters of the realm.   However, trouble waylays them on their journey to the capital as they find themselves part of a hunting party after a notorious Pactus. Their friend Brother Collins is grievously, and magically, injured in the fray, and only through the help of Ros' princely brother do they manage to make it out in one piece. Mostly.   Their travels take them across the country where they find themselves as guests to the court's seer, an old woman who once predicted that Ros would kill the very brother who now travels with them. She warns them to be wary of their travels ahead and sets them off with their friend healed but still carrying the curse.   At the capital they part ways with the elder prince and go in search of answers to their many questions. They discover that they're not the only ones asking questions, and in their investigation they uproot a deadly plot against the city. Together Kate and Ros must stop them, all the while fighting against friend, foe, and fate.

Kate and Ros' final adventure takes them to the ends of the world as they dig deep into the world's past to decipher the problems of the present.   Their destination is the fabled city of Baheal, a city so old it was lost long before the Pactus were created, but first they have to find the location. That isn't an easy matter when every ship on the high seas refuses to take them past the dark shadows that surround Umbria, the kingdom of their nemesis, Corvinus. The machinations of the King of Shadows work against them, thwarting their every move as they try to pass over the rough and uncharted western seas.   An old friend comes to their aid, and on the waves they discover that Kate has come away from the adventure in the capital city of Cunabourne with a few changes. The goddess' words ring in her mind as they near the end of their odyssey, and she begins to wonder if she'll return as herself, or something else. With Ros at her side and the future ahead uncertain, they face their greatest trials with one thing certain.   If one falls, they both fall.
