About this series

After being courted by the local coven, my anticipation over meeting someone who could be like me builds. But that person is even closer than I think when she comes into my bakery asking me to find her grandmother. Or more specifically, her grandmother's missing ghost.

When she says her grandmother promised to be at her upcoming wedding, I agree to help her, but complications arise when I sense the bride is meant to be with someone else.

There are more tiers to this missing ghost case than there are on my cakes, and as the big day approaches, I can't help but wonder if one issue is related to the other. I've never been wrong about my matches, but there are some lines I won't cross, even when the groom makes veiled threats to keep me from getting involved.

With love, life, and the afterlife on the line, I must whisk it all and put my skills to the ultimate test. Can I give everyone their happily-ever-afters or will this be the first time everything doesn't pan out the way I hoped?

As a matchmaking baker, customers flock to my cozy shop for the latest sweet treats and a chance to meet "the one." I've never been wrong when it comes to cookies or love.   They say I'm a witch. That magic helps me do what I do. But I'm just Joanie Sunevall. If I really had powers, I'd have used them on my perpetually single self by now.   Ghosts, however, were never a part of my business plan. Yet, for reasons I can't explain, spirits only I can see are coming between my latest couple, threatening to tear them apart.   Solving this mystery might be more than I can handle, but I have to try. My reputation and livelihood are on the line. The last thing I need is a distraction, but when a newcomer arrives in town, it has me wishing I really did have magic. So why do the ghosts seem as vested in keeping my couple apart as they do in my interest in this single dad?   It's up to me to crack this case before everyone's chance at a happily ever after crumbles, including my own.   Ghosts, it's time to meet your baker.   Cookies and Curses is the enchanting first novel in the witchy Mixing Up Magic series, set in Heartwood Hollow, a cozy small-town full of supernatural secrets from the living and the dead. This delicious read is full of tasty treats, quirky characters, and one sassy calico cat.
