About this series
The ever-bumbling Lar stumbles onto a cryogenic chamber inside of a pyramid buried under miles of Antarctic ice.
The aliens he unearths there, once awakened, draw a queen of an ancient race. Her magic and fringe science are far beyond anything Dr. Frankenstein and Victor Truman—for now, the most powerful fringe scientists and wizards on the planet—can fend off.
But they're not out of moves. Naomi, Dr. Frankenstein's girlfriend, coming into her own finally, possesses powers beyond anything Dr. Frankenstein and Victor can fathom.
Dr. Frankenstein's sidekicks and Victor Truman's posse play a part as well.
But so do new entrants to the stage, including the blind huntresses—a cabal of dragon-riding women who mix magic with their hunting skills.
Will the best defense against magic and science both that Earth has ever mustered be enough this time?
No, it won't.
And that's why our heroes resort to extreme measures to take their game up a level—and that in turn takes them off-world again and again to gather the esoteric knowledge and skills they need from the cosmic wizards who graduated mere worldly magic long, long ago.
But no matter what our heroes do and how much they grow into themselves—nothing is any match for the alien queen. She belongs to a master race—one of several that enslaves far more advanced worlds readily.
And so, once again, Dr. Frankenstein summons the beast to see if together they might pull off one more miracle.

Soren is finding the saving-the-world gig a bit trying these days. Someone is opening portals that allow entities to come through that the most powerful wizards on the planet are struggling to dispatch. Syracuse, New York, a city barely worth pointing to on the map, has suddenly become a hotspot of paranormal activity. Before each encounter with these increasingly superpowered nasties, Soren is forced to raise his game to the next level, taking his transhuman upgrades and extending them further. He has become both Dr. Frankenstein and the Frankenstein monster in one as he continues to experiment on himself with nanotech. All the same, the man of science realizes he will have to team up with a supernaturally-powered wunderkind to have a chance in hell of lasting much longer. Enter the love interest. Naomi is a telekinetic—the most powerful he's ever seen. With her by his side, he could well have a fighting chance. There's the small matter of getting her to remove him from her kill-list. It's not like he has a lot of time to win her over, because, frankly, no one has seen power and magic like Victor Truman wields. He's the one opening portals left and right. And his hidden agenda? Well, if anyone knew, then it wouldn't be hidden, would it? But Soren's sixth sense is acting up; whatever it is, he may have even more to fear from Victor's hidden agenda, than Victor himself.

Soren emerges from his rejuvenation tank to find he's no longer technically alive. Where once he was both Dr. Frankenstein AND the Frankenstein monster, now he's just the monster. All that remains of his higher consciousness resides in the mindchip. Unless he can reanimate his body, that's where it'll stay. But the monster is learning to block access to the mindchip more and more with each passing day. If Soren is not to remain in this state, he's going to have to act fast, and get help. The problem is, he threatened to kill his ad hoc family of paranormals. Now they—including his girlfriend, Naomi—are running scared. Just because Soren is sidetracked with his own survival issues—the monster in him growing darker and more powerful by the day—doesn't mean his arch-nemesis is taking a break. Victor Truman has introduced an entity to the planet by opening a portal over Syracuse, NY that is his most unstoppable yet. People are dying en masse and suffering like never before. And so far, no magic has proven powerful enough to neutralize the latest celestial wizard to come crashing to Earth. The one person who might be able to stop him? Ironically, it's the beast, if only Soren can learn to work better with the ever-more powerful, darker side of his nature. His journey into his own heart of darkness may destroy him, though, long before it destroys the latest threat to the planet.
