About this series
While Jake Prescott and his staff try to take some well-deserved time off, a monster from their past awakens, triggering the murder and mayhem memories of the past year. At that time, they had learned that someone, or some organization, was trying to eliminate scientists or anyone highlighting the global warming crisis. Slowly, they realize that all the efforts and analysis they had accomplished in the previous year might have been concentrated on the wrong industry. Although some of the problems had been directed either by or towards the petroleum industry, they suddenly learn the main cause of global warming might be the animal-agriculture and meat-growing industry.
Jake Prescott and his beautiful girlfriend Sabrina Wagner are trying to catch some sun and relaxation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their plans for a romantic vacation are cut short when an old school chum, Mateo Perez, contacts Jake. Working for the Buenos Aires police and Interpol, Mateo is dealing with the environmental resistance to the huge animal-agriculture industry. Jake joins forces with Mateo but they are both sidetracked and stalled by the actions of major Balkan drug cartels working in South America. Before long, they are all involved in another dangerous game of cat and mouse with a familiar enemy from Jake's past, who is not only determined to stop this talk about global warming, but is involved with major street gangs and drug cartels . . . a game with deadly results.

During an international environmental conference in Los Angeles, forty-three people die horribly and mysteriously on a local freeway by what initially appears to be a poison gas attack. Suspecting environmental terrorists or political extremists, government agencies remain baffled until a visiting scientist, Jake Prescott, becomes involved. With the help of friends and colleagues, Jake attempts to unravel the puzzle, only to be frustrated, blocked and hunted down by government agents and others who would prefer to have the event remain closed. Jake discovers that an old friend and mentor is involved with what turns out to be an experiment gone terribly wrong. Funded jointly by private and government funds, his friend's research project had developed a fuel additive that could be the answer to some major environmental questions. Because such a discovery could represent a fortune to those holding the right cards, powerful forces move to minimize some unexpected side effects. When a second event kills another twenty-one people, fear of exposure triggers further government cover-ups. Working with the F.B.I. and Interpol, Jake is still trying to determine who all the players are when other contenders enter the game, those who stand to lose billions of dollars of petroleum revenue and will do anything to prevent the success of the project. As some of the participants on both sides are brutally eliminated, Jake has to move fast, following a trail of danger, intrigue and love from California to Europe and a secluded laboratory in Bavaria. On both sides of the Atlantic, hunters close in on the hunted, each making desperate moves towards a final showdown. Pick up a copy today!

When a friend and colleague of Jake Prescott dies mysteriously during a morning run in Stanley Park, Vancouver Police involve Jake in the case. Jake discovers that his arch-enemy, Kurt Landau is behind not only his friend's death, but the death of many others. Before long, Jake is once again involved in an international chase to find out who is killing off the scientists who bear the bad news about global warming. While in Europe at his friend's funeral, Jake meets Sabrina, a beautiful woman who has a few surprises up her sleeve. He soon discovers that Landau has teamed up with a deadly organization that specializes in exotic, toxic potions made from natural sources. The names Tetrodotoxin, Abrin, Digitalis, Ricin, and Batrachotoxin all become part of his vocabulary. Many of the deaths appear to be from natural causes; heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and are extremely difficult to trace. When Jake and his crew start recognizing the clues, they work with French, Austrian and Swiss authorities, as well as Interpol and the F.B.I. to build a case against the people involved. Jake's interest in Sabrina grows as some of her past reveals itself, igniting a love he didn't think was possible. As usual, human nature prevails, throwing everyone off the trail, and opening the situation up to a final solution of violence and mayhem. Pick up a copy today!
