The Warders Series

Raised by his uncle, half-elven Toran struggles to control his barbarian heritage and fit into conservative elven society. When he releases his control to save a friend from a spell gone wrong, elven bigots force him into exile. Following his uncle's advice, he goes to Eridan and finds work at a rundown tavern in the city's seedy quarter.  While watching a parade, Toran combines his keen elven senses and barbarian battle skills to thwart an assassination attempt on the future queen. His actions earn him an invitation to join the secret protectors of Eridan, the Warders, whose leaders own the tavern. After the princess is poisoned, the Warders mobilize to save her and prevent war. Toran, a veteran dwarf agent, and the princess's lady in waiting embark on a mission to retrieve the antidote's key ingredient. Other agents infiltrate royal society and work with the thieves' guild to protect the comatose princess and capture the assassin. Working against them is the assassin's master, the sorceress Skade, who's also working with a traitor within the royal household.

All that stands between Adara and her dream of becoming a Warder agent is Geren's rigorous week-long field trial in neighboring Cruese.  Her final test is to covertly follow the royal Cruesean coach.  While she struggles to extricate herself from a thicket of thorns, the coach stops.  She hears the ringing of steel on steel and looks to see Geren fighting with the Count's personal guard.  Has Geren gone mad?  Is the battle part of the wild politics of Cruese?  Is it a special twist to her final exam?   Back in Eridan, the panicked appearance of Geren's spirit sign in the cavern below the Knife & Cat tavern, alarms the leaders of the Warders.  News from their contacts in the local thieves' guild convinces them to send Draham and Toran on a desperate mission.  Can they rescue the alliance and their friends, or will they be forced to choose between their duty and friends?

A disciple of the defeated sorceress Skade bargains with the Mistress of Death to become the Necrotic Knight. In exchange for the power of living death, he must claim the hammer of the underworld and free the Necromancer from his magical prison. The resurrection of the deathly knight activates an ancient binding spell. The powerful magic compels the Warders to partner with their arch-enemy the Chaotic Order and a mysterious grey-clad healer.   Together they embark on a quest to prevent the recovery of the hammer. Can the adversaries work together to prevent the Necrotic Knight from freeing the Necromancer or will the world be engulfed in a war between the living and the undead?

An agent is killed, a magical artifact is stolen, and a rogue assassin appears in Eridan.  All are connected to the Chaotic Order, but what is their link to ancient tales of dark elven sorcery and dragons?  Once again Warder agents are called to answer the challenge.  With the help of the assassin Khelan, the veteran dwarf Draham, half-elven Toran, and rising mage Adara embark on a mission to decipher the riddle.  Khelan may be the key to their success, but can the Warders trust the former Shaulan or will she betray them to the Chaotic Order?
