Becky Olson's life changed when she got a letter from her Aunt Pauline. The strange thing is that Pauline had been gone for years, simply disappearing from the face of the earth. Then one day, Becky received a letter via her aunt's lawyer, telling her she'd inherited an antique shop. She wasn't a very impulsive person, but Becky took up the offer, packed up her life and moved to Rose Hollow. Rose Hollow was a tiny town in Maine, wildly wealthy and full of strange residents: there was always something going on. An uncomfortable chill runs just below the surface, belying a community that plays for keeps but plays it closer to the chest. The residents are nice, but nosy and Becky feels sort of out of place after she moves in and re-opens the store that that been closed for years. Then, after one late night, a dead body turns up in Becky's store, and it is up to her to find out who did it or risk losing her store and the new life she's just begun! This Cozy Mystery Novel is packed with quirky characters, rousing romps and a whodunnit that wraps up cleanly. No cliffhangers, no curse words and no obscenity.

But things rarely go as planned when someone at the party turns up murdered. Becky realizes that the killer is amongst them, and she must solve the mystery before the guests disperse at the end of the evening. Racing against the clock, Becky and her friends try to put the pieces of the murder together. This evening will take Becky and the rest down a path revealing secrets of the victims's personal life that she did not want to know. And all this while the killer could strike again! That was until Summer, the Cookie Queen, was discovered murdered just a few blocks away from her store. Becky knows that she can’t return to a peaceful life of painting and running her shop until Summer’s murderer is found. But the closer Becky gets to the truth, the more dangerous things become. She never got the point of watching people bake. When a contestant is found murdered the day the tournament is supposed to begin, Becky is once again pulled into a world of intrigue and secrets. 6
Stress has been the main factor in Becky’s life as of late. Her mother seems to be making the decision to stay with her permanently instead of returning to Ohio. She even got a part-time job at the library and acquired a car that was pink, but would shine almost gold in the sun. Becky isn’t sure what to think of her mother and what she should say to her about staying for so long. But her mother becomes the last of Becky’s worries as her mother calls to inform Becky that there has been another murder in Rose Hollow. And it was the customer Becky had in her antique shop the day before. As Becky takes on another case and dives into another social group of town, she discovers that everyone is a liar and has something to hide. And the girl that was murdered? The biggest liar of them all. Becky doesn’t know when to stop as she starts to interview everyone in the Rose Hollow Book Club, the only group of people that accepted the murdered woman as their own. Becky is forced to not only put the murder pieces together, but several literary pieces will need to be examined in order to find out who murdered Sarah Reese. And was it out of jealousy, or even a longer string of lies?
