About this series
A broken vow. An attempted murder in the dead of night. Will this retired monster hunter have to give up the life he's made to keep living?
He hasn't been Aleksandr Sergeyevich Volonov, legendary monster-hunting assassin for ten years. Now, he's only Sasha, charming deckhand on a merchant airship. Well, he was until pirates destroyed that ship. Before he can even find another position, his sister sends an assassin to murder him. His only choice is to return to Saint Petersburg and renounce his claim to his family's title.
Trapped by his late father's machinations, Sasha's ever-present confidence wavers as he's surrounded by death threats on all sides. If that wasn't enough, he's forcibly engaged to a brutal villainess, who wants to use his name to take over the organization bent on eliminating all supernatural creatures from the Russian Empire. But at least he can amuse himself by provoking the beautiful but sharp-tongued assassin who turned his life upside down.
As he struggles to keep hold of the man he is, Sasha must face who he used to be in this steampunk fantasy adventure full of folklore, banter, and artifice.

Orphaned, betrayed, stripped of magic, and exiled. Can she survive with powerful and vengeful Fae still after her? Staying on the move is all half-Fae Ember can think about when she's stripped of her magic and exiled from Faerie. Forced into the foreign human realm, she takes a job on a merchant airship. Sure, her new position is dangerous, but not nearly as life-threatening as the murderous Faerie Queen. Besides, she's always been able to handle any trouble thrown her way with a snide comment, a swift kick, and an apathy that protects her from caring about anyone or anything. When the optimistic Reilley follows her, she tries to ditch the bothersome human. It isn't long before his naivety, and his own penchant for trouble, makes her feel responsible for him. Always worried about encumbering others, Reilley has never stood up for himself in his life. But when he realizes Ember needs his protection just as much as he needs hers, he'll do anything. Getting attached goes against everything Ember has learned about survival, and getting attached to Reilley could put more than their hearts in peril. Faeries, pirates, and traveling players meet in this steampunk fantasy adventure.
