About this series

Rabbit continues to prosper on its baseline motto and assumption: "Human are hedonists." With 100% confidence that The Reforms, although antagonistic to the illicit drugs trade and branded merchandising, will prove beneficial for their performance in the long view. And they were right. Even though the measures set forth during The Reformation led to widespread panic throughout most lines of businesses during the war and commenced in an internet blackout that disturbed the entire digital supply chain eco-system, it in turn created a dependency on the structures and systems Run Rabbit so fortuitously supplies.

Instead of discouraging the consumer from corporate medium and technologies, The Blackout resulted in a reflection of the human spirit and its utter dependency on the machine. Telephone Bar exists as an antithesis to this movement online but is controlled by the same peoples and systems that father the machines. In looking for an escape from the box, consumers find themselves slaves to new forms and shapes of technology's shackles. Telephone agents promise nostalgia—a return to innocence during a time before point and click.

Nostalgia brought to you hot and fresh from the same people that brought you the driverless car.

Most of the public is just happy the internet is back on nowadays. Others are glad the streets are clean again. It's the little things that matter.

Telephone Bar exists as an antithesis to this movement online but is controlled by the same peoples and systems that father the machines. In looking for an escape from the box, consumers find themselves slaves to new forms and shapes of technology's shackles. Still, automation breeds convenience and status quo. The incorporated territories of Post Reform America are a product of these silver linings. New York's Area 5 is no exception.   Telephone agents promise nostalgia—a return to innocence during a time before point and click. Nostalgia brought to you hot and fresh from the same people that brought you the driverless car. Officer Marcus Anderson patrols the 5 and he isn't much for stupid games. As far as he's concerned, the party ended the day he left Orange County. But from time to time, he finds himself wanderlust to the lure of modern devices. Like most of Area 5 service members, he loathes the machines. When it comes to people, he's optimistic. Most of the public is just happy the internet is back on nowadays. Others are glad the streets are clean again. It's the little things that matter.   Telephone agents promise nostalgia—a return to innocence during a time before point and click. There is something magical about the wealthy parts of Orange County, California, but lately, there is trouble in paradise. The kids at Northwood High are no stranger to theatrics. Yet each game night from August to Christmas, when the Knights play football, dreams do come true. Northwood High's progressive administrative practices and educational policies encourage the importance of cultivating modern educational methods, namely online media for social expression among a disenfranchised student body. Northwood, known for both its top academic and football programs, is hailed nationwide for its gifted students and progressive enrichment programs and 'out of the box' learning programs. Marcus and Brady are Northwood Knights. Their squad and the entire city are fired up for finals versus long time Division 1 rivals Valley Tech. In a place not so different from Orange and even smaller than Denton, there exists a sophisticated private emergency dispatch facility known as The Center For Natural Sciences. There is a complex chain of command within The Center, and employees are left largely unaware of the impact and end-goals of their service. The Center's directing staff safeguards many of its endpoint strategies, goals and tactics from its employees by enforcing strict privacy policies. These tactics, in the guise of ensuring the safety of its employees and service to Homeland security, are meant to ensure its longevity. The Center, led by a Director Jones, is staffed and engaged at all times. Its origins and operations are shrouded in secrecy. It's only football and losing is just part of growing up. But when all hope is lost, what will we have left to fight for? What do a high school math teacher, a shrink, a celebrity rapper turned famed film star, a five-star running back, and a cop from Denton, Texas have in common? Not very much outside their love for American football—but that's the internet for you. When you look closer, you might discover something real. It's too late for some of us, but your life might depend on it. And trust me, your kids will thank me. In Dinner 4_1, there are no small towns.

Everyone gives you the cold shoulder in the Free Cities, but if you're lucky enough to find a night out, you might end up scoring at Telephone Bar. The Haight looks sinister like its morning occupants. Its shop windows bear witness to the aftermath of another loveless evening. They reflect Cinderella's lost slipper twice removed so that the unlucky barefoot gals going home shoeless and single at the end of the night have an additional reminder that they are, in fact, all alone.   It is said that if you stand in just the right spots in Telephone Bar that one can hear a whisper from another section of the venue some 72 feet removed from each other- "Stand together. Apart". The theory is tested nightly by tourists mainly and largely the rumors have been dispelled. It's just never quite quiet enough to test the theory at its capacity and, when it is quiet enough, it's too silent to tell. Still, the barkeeps and regulars insist that, though they've not successfully employed the game themselves, that they know somebody who knows somebody who did. Americans are finally starting to come together again.   Loveheed Pharmaceuticals was called 'The Little Bioengineering Plant that could' by American Forex before word hit the Area 3 about its bold plan to move into the automotive business. There were rumors of a merger since long before the press release. Loveheed had been turning Silicon heads and making mouths water in the valley since their conception of the first workable remedy to methadone dependency. The word 'workable' is not thrown around readily in the pharmaceutical industry, especially in post Reformation times, when it's easier to get away with murder than it is to call a horse by its name. Sergeant Halestorm patrols Area 3. He's never been to Telephone to test out the game himself, and he has no intentions to pick up a bad habit this close to retirement. The Free Cities are freezing cold. Nobody really listened to each other prior to The Reforms, and they sure as hell don't now.

In New York, the human world is known as Cell, and is inhabited by both Cells (humans) and products (artificially intelligent androids). As bi-product of the consumer movement known as Consumption, a red light district in what is left of present day Brooklyn, fairy tales must live and love fast. All android product are set to expire at the age of twenty seven, whereby they are dismantled and recycled. The coldest winter in Cell history – that was when Kaiden locked onto her. Products are not given names upon assemblage. These days, there exists no clear cut indication of android product versus Celluloids or Cells as they are now known. All Kaiden knew, as he stood in the ice storm outside the Black Hat Tavern, is that he had taken the first breath of his late twenties. She is called Zen29, assembled from a second generation product line, adorned in unique features not included in base models. Shrouded in secrecy, the history of her deployment cycle contains a dark secret that could change the foundation of Cell law as we know it. 27 is an illustrated novel and the third in a series known as Dinner 4_1. The prequel "Dinner 4_1: Alcatraz 2020" is available for free on Smashwords. Author asks that, in lieu of proceeds, readers donate to Work Vessels for Veterans whose mission is to equip returning combat veterans with the tools they need to start a business or pursue career education. We appreciate your continued service to Cell.
