About this series

Jaxon heard the shout from behind him. He turned in time to see a total stranger, a dangerous-looking man, anger and rage on his face, running at him.

He'd agreed to help one of the street kids from the commune, and was carrying a heavy bag of unknown cargo, to a mysterious old man in The Bleeds. The last time he'd helped someone, they beat him to within an inch of his life.

Jaxon knew he was going to die. What happened next, he could never have imagined.

The Shout is the third story in The Bleeds series; a pre-apocalyptic, dystopian London, and prequel to the debut novel, Rogue.

Emily Harkness lives in The Bleeds. Her world will end in sixteen years. Walking home from the store, a body unexpectedly plummets from the sky, startling her. Though shaken, she continues her journey. Yet, from that moment on, she senses a presence behind her. Now, Emily is no longer solitary. The tap-tap-tap behind her signals a warning. "WARNING" is the first in a series of short stories set in The Bleeds, a pre-apocalyptic, dystopian version of London, and prequel to Danny Lenihan's critically acclaimed debut novel, ROGUE.

An unexpected knock at the door shatters Jaxon Leith's daily routine, propelling him into The Bleeds alongside his friend Mylo, in pursuit of a mysterious girl. While waiting in a bar, a towering man consumed by fury storms in, targeting a defenceless woman. Jaxon intervenes to protect her, only to awaken hours later in a cold, solitary cell, his memory blank. Author

Danny Lenihan

Award-winning product designer and entrepreneur Danny Lenihan was born in West London, raised in Chessington and now lives in the Shires with his two children, Evie and George, a smattering of Hobbits and the occasional wallaby. A former press photographer and stand-up comedian, Danny spends his days designing for his two global brands, 3 Legged Thing and Morally Toxic. A passionate writer, Danny has contributed to several books (actually one, but he bought two copies) prior to penning his own, and has had articles published worldwide. He has written for TV, film and radio, and hosts his own, utterly childish, comedy podcast. Previously a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, Danny shot to notoriety in the photographic industry when he launched his own tripod brand, 3 Legged Thing in 2010. Defying convention and focusing on innovation and engineering, Danny's designs are widely considered to be the industry benchmark in camera support technology, winning the prestigious Lucie Technical Award in 2017. For more than a decade, Danny ruined the world as a stand-up comedian, during which time he featured and starred in three British horror movies (in which he died four times, a record only recently beaten by Tom Cruise in 'Edge of Tomorrow': Tom cheated though.) and was a frequent panellist and contributor to BBC Radio. Danny composed the musical score to Pat Higgins' debut horror movie, Trashhouse. He can also speak to cats.
